Voice Acting Audition

Victor's Video Vault | Paid Role

Casting Status: OPEN

Monica

Female | Early 20s

The Game: Victor's Video Vault is a first-person horror game set in a reality-bending 1995 video store, where movies come to life.

The Role: Monica is a seemingly sweet, friendly young woman who becomes dangerously obsessed with the player after renting a mysterious movie called Love Potion. What begins as innocent flirting quickly escalates into possessiveness, jealousy, and increasingly disturbing behavior.

The key for this role is the contrast between sweet and terrifying. We want an actor who can make Monica sound genuinely likable at first, then increasingly disturbing without immediately resorting to a stereotypical horror-villain voice.

Voice Direction: Initially warm, charming, and slightly awkward, gradually shifting into unsettling affection, emotional instability, and obsessive desperation. Her transitions between sweetness and anger should feel natural but unpredictable. Avoid comedic or exaggerated delivery. Monica should feel like a believable young woman whose obsession slowly spirals into madness.

Role Size: 25 lines of dialogue, plus additional non-verbal vocal performances, including screams, yells, gasps, laughter, and various emotional reactions. The role requires a strong emotional range, with performances ranging from playful and affectionate to increasingly obsessive, unsettling, and intense.
Compensation: $200 USD (If your minimum rate for a role of this size is higher, feel free to indicate your rate with your audition.)

Audition Lines

1. Monica greets the player and makes a lame excuse to come back to the store, just to see the player

"Oh, hey, ya. I thought I left my purse, but then I remembered I didn’t bring one (laughter). My name’s Monica, by the way."

2. Monica is showing signs of aggression and anger, becoming accusatory and obsessive.

"You’re spending time with other customers, aren’t you? AREN’T YOU?"

3. Monica is very disturbed at this point. She can't understand why she feels obsessed with the player and also has trouble dealing with the player's dismissive behaviour. She's beginning to feel desperate.

"I just want you to love me… like I love you. That’s all…"
